Rueybin Kao Leaving Motorola
Rueybin Kao, corporate vice president and chairman of Motorola (China) Electronics Limited has decided to leave Motorola effective Sept. 20 to pursue other opportunities. I will assume responsibility as chairman of Motorola (China) Electronics Ltd (MCEL).
Since we established our first office there in 1987, China has been -- and will continue to be -- a country of strategic importance to Motorola. It is home to some of our most valuable assets, including world-class employees, tremendous innovation capabilities, a broad supply chain, and significant customer relationships. Rueybin’s outstanding leadership has contributed to all of these. Rueybin has helped to grow China to be a global center for Motorola’s supply chain, research and development, and many other business activities.
Rueybin has a long and distinguished career, including more than 25 years of industry experience and 17 years with Motorola. He developed strong relationships with key customers in all of our businesses. For Motorola Solutions, he supported a number of key projects in China. For Networks, Rueybin was instrumental in delivering integrated end-to-end solutions to telecom carriers. For Motorola Mobility, Rueybin played a key role in the Mobile Devices turnaround strategy in China.
Rueybin also cultivated strong relationships with government and civic organizations, where he held a variety of leadership roles. Under his leadership, Motorola was highly recognized in the prestigious “30 years of Reform and Opening Up” awards, which honored individuals, companies and institutions that have provided significant contributions to China since the country was opened to foreign commerce in 1978. Rueybin also was an active supporter of Motorola’s corporate social responsibility initiatives in China, which also had earned wide recognition for Motorola.
Please join me in thanking Rueybin for his many contributions to Motorola China and wishing him the very best in his future endeavors.
Regards, Karen Tandy Motorola Solutions Senior Vice President Public Affairs |
